Cover letter From day one I knew I would face some challenges with this class just bases off of past experiences with English classes overall. Not being a native speaker and having dyslexia have been two big hurdles but I can say this class has made me over all a more knowledgeable writer. Each assignment given was something different and something interesting. The one that left the biggest impact on me was the Sister Flowers story by Maya Angelou. I’ve always been a fan of her work and the fact that I got to read something by her in my English class was amazing. Most of the classes I’ve attended have been very euro centric barely deviating from that path but here there was plenty of variety from the racial backgrounds of the authors to the topics themselves. My strengths as a writer have always been in the passion I can channel into my writing. That skill really came to birth as a way to balance out my lack of proper grammar with sheer emotional impact. An example of this I believe was in my essay entitled Glossy â€Å"I felt the rage tinged with fear claw at my stomach and wrap around my neck constricting my breathing.† Although my English may not be the best I’ve found ways to convey certain emotions. Although I have some strengths naturally I have weaknesses as well. One of my biggest weaknesses is just my lack of proper grammar and sentence structure in English. Chokehold is a metallic hardcore band from Canada that, while only staying together about six years, was a very established and influential act in the straight-edge/vegan hardcore scene. Their second album, â€Å"Content With Dying,† is easily their angriest and most passionate, which is really saying something; if theres one thing Chokehold never lacked, its passion. You can agree or disagree with their viewpoints, but youve got to respect a band that can put their message before their music and still come out with a near classic. Their messages arent uncommon either. In fact, they are still controversial with views on religion and abortion. The latter is discussed in the song â€Å"Not a Solution.† Now, Id be lying if I told you this band was made up of excellent musicians, but that wouldnt be the point even if this album did put the music first. Keeping a mid-tempo throughout, the band just plods and chugs along with some of the most made-for-headbanging riffs in the genre, best demonstrated in the opening track, â€Å"Underneath.† As good as it is, the album could use a bit of remastering. The production is very raw and suitable for this type of music, but it feels hollow at points, with a lack of low-end, and the drums are turned up higher than they should be, even though they themselves are produced well and sound very tight. The guitars should dominate the album; theyre perfectly distorted and full of groove. Much more so than their previous effort, â€Å"Prisoner of Hope.† The band has cut back on the amount of breakdowns and melody from that album, and made the vocals more discernible while keeping them just as intense. Vocalist Chris Galas delivers his politically charged lyrics in a clear shouting style. His voice couldnt be stronger, and the same can be said for his lyrics, like those on the track â€Å"Conditioned†: â€Å"Does anybody care? Or are they too busy watching and learning? Glued to the TV while the rest of the world is burning.† Just like the musicianship, the lyrics are simple yet powerful. â€Å"Content With Dying† isnt the most varied record; its more or less the same kind of metal-influenced, chuggy riffs throughout, but this albums twenty-some minutes of music doesnt give them enough time to get old. In fact, if anything, theres not enough of them. Sadly this was Chokeholds last full-length attempt, but it remains one of the best in the genre, not to mention the heaviest and most memorable. Its an essential addition to any collection of ?s hardcore fan, and shouldnt be overlooked by those interested in the genre.

After conducting my research, I would later learn that empirical research would guide me into journals with a broader spectrum on the topic. This topic interests me in more ways than one. Although my research does not deal with the mind frame of the offender, it does help me understand victimology or the relationship between the offender and the victim; which will be discussed later in this paper. The purpose of this paper is to determine the impact of sexual abuse on juvenile victims, if any at all. A meta-analysis will be conducted combining at least ten (10) professional journals and books. The importance of this study depicts the everlasting traumatic effect that sexual abuse has on children and whether the impact is no more than immediate or ... ...xual abuse was rare early on, when conducted it was combined with adults who too were abused. Some studies specified child abuse by gender, focusing either on boys, or only girls. Methodologies used by researchers had some limitations as well. Some depended on clinician’s reports rather than self-reports from the victim. In early research, longitudinal studies were not conducted. CONCLUSION: This meta-analysis reconfirms prior research findings; the impact of child sexual abuse can be traumatic, everlasting, and symptomatic. Nevertheless, some sexually abused children may never experience any interpersonal symptoms. The importance of science and technology on economic development and rational worldview on which they depend on are seen as destroying the belief in supernatural. However religion can contribute to development, but most recently sociologists have examined what role religion may play in development in today’s globalising world. This can be seen in India. Globalisation has brought rapid economic growth and has seen India become a more important player in the world political stage. It has brought prosperity to some, notably the Indian middle class. Nanda shows that 85% of India is Hindu and this is where globalisation has taken place. Globalisation has created a huge and prosperous, scientifically educated middle class working in IT, pharmaceuticals, etc. These are who secularisation theorists say will be the first to abandon religion. However Nanda sees a vast majority of this class continue to believe in the supernatural. A study of developing societies in 2007 shows that Indians are more religious and only 5% claim their religion has declined in the past five years. Nanda rejects poverty and existential insecurity as a reason for their belief because they are not poor. Virgin Media Business/ On Thursday 11 February 2010, Virgin Media announced that its business division would be rebranded as Virgin Media Business with immediate effect. The company, which had been operating as ntl:Telewest Business, is now the largest B2B brand in the Virgin Group. This marked the end of the NTL and Telewest being used by the company. Virgin Media Business is the UKs only telco with a national fibre optic Next Generation Network. Organisations working with Virgin Media Business include London City Airport, Arqiva, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Partnership and South West Water. For example, if youre already a Virgin customer using its XL (20Mb) or L (10Mb) cable broadband packages or its ADSL Bundle 1 offering, you can get mobile broadband with a 1GB usage allowance for an additional fiver a month. If youre on one of the lower-end home broadband deals you can get the same package for a tenner a month.
